Welcome to my “Sweet Fakes” Fake Bakery!
My name is Donna, and Fake Baking is my passion.
It all started when I decided to try my hand at making a faux whipped mug topper for my favorite Rae Dunn mug. Once I had the topper made, I realized of course that I needed a matching cupcake to display with it. But, you can’t make just a single cupcake, you gotta make a dozen at a time, right?
Well, a dozen soon became two dozen, and two dozen cupcakes turned into another dozen mini cupcakes… and on and on! I just kept on “fake baking” every possible confection I could think of until my tiny craft room was bursting at the seams with spackle and glitter!
I realized very soon that I couldn’t keep all of these yummy confections to myself (the limited space in my craft room simply wouldn’t allow it)!
Hence, “Sweet Fakes” was born!
I began selling only locally at first, but the positive feedback I began to receive on social media when I would share photos of my creations led me to the realization that it was time to create more of an online presence.
So…here we are!
